What is Plant-Crispr?

  1. What is Crispr-Cas9?
    • Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPRs) and CRISPR-associated (Cas) proteins are found in many bacteria and most archaea. The CRISPR-Cas systems use sequences derived from plasmids and phages to activate Cas endonucleases to neutralize those plasmids and phages via RNA-guided sequence-specific DNA cleavage, thus blocking their transmission and creating a simple acquired immunity.
    • With their highly flexible but specific targeting, CRISPR-Cas systems can be manipulated and redirected to become powerful tools for genome editing. CRISPR-Cas technology permits targeted gene cleavage and gene editing in a variety of eukaryotic cells, and because the endonuclease cleavage specificity in CRISPR-Cas systems is guided by RNA sequences, editing can be directed to virtually any genomic locus by engineering the guide RNA sequence and delivering it along with the Cas endonuclease to your target cell.
  2. What is Plant-Crispr?

    Plant-Crispr is a platform providing the crispr-Cas9 site about 60 species. It contains Three main parts:

    • The search part: This part contains high efficent Crispr site of about 60 species.
    • The synteny densign: partical or whole nucleotide and protein sequences can be used to search the synteny segments in the aimed model genome, and the Crispr-Cas9 site in the synteny area will be present
    • The directly design: Only nucleotide sequence can be used in this tools.

How to use Plant-Crispr?

  1. Search

    There are three main methods to search the sgRNAs. The first one is searched by the species, chromosome and the position. The second is searched by the species and the gene id, the last one is searched by the species and the Pfam number or the gene name(only partly were annotationed). All these results are the Specific sgRNA, Not all sgRNA.

  2. Synteny

    This tool can be used as a affinis sgRNA detector, when the species were selecte and the sequences were inserted, the sgRNA in the asynteny area of the aim species will be presented. Only CDS and Protein can be used now.

  3. design

    This tools need a nuclotide sequence, and all sgRNAs and the reference informations will be provided.
