SGN: The SOL Genomics Network

The SOL Genomics Network (SGN) is a Clade Oriented Database (COD) containing genomic, genetic, phenotypic and taxonomic information for plant genomes. SGN originally concentrated on the Euasterid clade, including the families Solanaceae (e.g. tomato, potato, eggplant, pepper and petunia) and Rubiaceae (coffee).

Tobacco Genome Initiative

The goal of the Tobacco Genome Initiative (TGI) is to sequence and annotate more than 90% of the open reading frames in the genome of cultivated tobacco, Nicotiana tabacum L.

PlantGDB is an NSF-funded project to develop plant species-specific EST and GSS databases, to provide web-accessible tools and inter-species query capabilities, and to provide genome browsing and annotation capabilities.

The ESTobacco project was born following the call launched at the time of the "genomic" round table of the 5th Tobacco Scientific Meeting in Bergerac. The purpose of this project is initially to sequence a large number of expressed tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) genes.

The Arabidopsis Information Resource (TAIR) maintains a database of genetic and molecular biology data?for the model higher plant Arabidopsis thaliana.

TOBFAC came into being as a database of tobacco transcription factors at the time, possibly the largest collection of transcription factor sequences from a single plant species (over 2,500 genes).

PIP Database

PIP provides detailed information of PIP markersdeveloped in plant species with more than 10,000 PUTs (PlantGDB-assembled Unique Transcripts)
